Register your J/24 to race

Race locally in your backyard! We race on Casco Bay out of Falmouth, Maine with a variety of ways to access your boat that include memberships at Portland Yacht Club or Handy Boat, or from the Falmouth town landing. J24 Fleet 43 Registration includes registration of one boat into the Wednesday Night Spring Series, Wednesday Night Summer Series, Tonini Series, Level Series and State of Maine Championship Series. Other fees for weekend events and special regattas such as the Downeast Regatta and Doublehanded Regatta may be extra.

Not a boat owner? Support Fleet 43 and become a “Friend of Fleet 43”!

The purpose of this annual membership is for individual crew members as well as family members, junior sailors, and volunteers to show support of Fleet 43 based in Portland, Maine. For $20 per person each year, your support helps the local J/24 sailing fleet run mid week races, organize and support weekend sailing events, throw a variety of social events throughout the year, and maintain our inventory of racing equipment. This membership is included in boat owner registration for the fleet series.

Wednesday Night Race Series
May to September

J/24 Fleet 43 runs a weekly night race series out of Portland Yacht Club on Casco Bay that typically has over 15 boats and 2 to 3 races per night over a 14 to 15 week series.

Tonini Overall Race Series
May to September

Inclusive of the Wednesday Night Series and local weekend events, the Tonini Series is named after local legend George Tonini, who raced his J24 Trick or Treat well into his 80s. George never missed a chance go to racing - and neither should you!

Downeast & State of Maine
September 2024

The Downeast Regatta is Fleet 43’s signature event, with boats coming from across the country to race for two days on Casco Bay. The event has hosted the US Nationals and North American Championships. The State of Maine Championship, originally organized by J24 Fleet 43, was designed to see who is the best J/24 team in the state of Maine. To learn more, click the links above:

Doublehanded Regatta
August/September

J/24 Fleet 43 runs an annual Doublehanded regatta that has 5 to 15 boats participate in an afternoon of racing J24s with only 2 people on board. This is a fun, challenging and interesting way of racing your boat!
